Privacy at ShelfPing

Last updated August 21, 2026

ShelfPing stores only what it reasonably needs to monitor books and deliver alerts. We never request, receive, or store your KDP password or KDP account credentials.

Information we store

We store your verified account email, monitored Amazon marketplace and ASIN combinations, notification preferences, passkey public-key material, sessions, and account settings. We also store public product metadata and public written review information—including review text, rating, reviewer display name, date, badges, and Amazon links—plus compact operational and abuse-prevention logs.

How data is used

We use this information to operate ShelfPing: identify new written reviews, send requested sign-in and review emails, protect the service from abuse, diagnose failures, and manage limited provider capacity. We do not sell personal data and do not use behavioural advertising or analytics trackers.

Service providers

Cloudflare provides hosting, database storage, queues, bot protection, rate limiting, and email delivery. YepAPI supplies public Amazon review information. ShelfPing retrieves basic public product metadata from ordinary Amazon product pages. These providers process data as needed to deliver their services.

Retention and deletion

Account and watch data remains while your account is active. OTP and abuse records expire on short operational schedules; delivery and check records are retained for a reasonable troubleshooting period. You can delete your account from Settings. User-specific watches, notifications, sessions, passkeys, authentication records, preferences, and overrides are removed. Shared public product and review rows may remain if another user monitors the same product.

Your choices

You can pause or remove any watch, turn off alerts for a book, remove passkeys, sign out sessions, or delete your account. Contact hello@shelfping.com with privacy questions.
